Stafne's cyst

A 63 year old male patient, asymptomatic presents for a CT scan of the mandible in view of a lytic lesion seen on the OPG.

Stafne's cyst

A small lytic lesion (blue arrow) seen in the posterior part of body of the mandible on the right side with defect in the medial cortex filled with fat. It is inferior to the inferior alveolar nerve bony canal (green arrow). 

Case Discussion

Stafne's cyst is a benign entity not to be mistaken for a significant pathology.
