Presentation
25 yo M as Level 2 trauma front sided MVC at 55mph as restrained driver with LOC. Per EMS the patient was complaining of chest pain, and shortness of breath on scene. They noted minimal driver's side intrusion with no deformity of the dash or steering wheel. The patient states that he was drinking this evening and has a history of polysubstance abuse. He complains of sternal chest pain and chest wall tenderness.

There is a fracture involving the anterior cortex of the body of the sternum with 5 mm posterior displacement.
