Two minimally displaced sternal body fractures with the upper fracture extending into the sternomanubrial joint. Small volume retrosternal hemorrhage.
Case Discussion
Sternal body fractures on CT. These are most easily detected in the sagittal plane. Detecting even a small volume of hemorrhage within the retrosternal fat of axial images should alert the reader to examine the sagittal images carefully for fracture.
