Sagittal T2

A lobulated intramuscular lesion in proximal sternocleidomastoid muscle, appearing mildly hyperintense on T1W images and bright on fat-suppressed images is seen, with few signal voids within.
Case Discussion
Possibilities are of a soft tissue tumor versus vascular lesion. However, contrast-enhanced study could not be done.
Intra-operative appearance and histopathology proved it to be a hemangioma.
Intramuscular hemangioma is quite rare in the sternocleidomastoid muscle, and this case depicts typical MR characteristics of lesion.
