Bilateral avulsion injury of the medial collateral ligament (i.e. Stieda fracture) appearing as a small stripe of detached bone medial to the medial femoral condyle.
There was no radiographic evidence of any other injury.
Case Discussion
An acute avulsion injury of the medial collateral ligament is termed a Stieda fracture. Nonunion of a Stieda fracture earns it the term Pellegrini-Stieda lesion.
