Presentation

Right TMJ closed lock.

Patient Data

Age: 40
Gender: Male

There is abnormally reduced anterior translation of the mandibular condyles on mouth opening. The posterior band of the right TMJ articular disc remains 'stuck' within the mandibular fossa with stretching of the anterior portions of the disc. This condition in known as stuck disc and is the cause of the patient's symptoms. Normal capture of the left TMJ articular disc can be seen.
