Known case of Sturge-Weber syndrome for follow up with no recent complaints.
Patient Data
On CT, there is subcortical calcification seen in the region of left parietal and occipital lobes accompanied by parenchymal volume loss.
On volume rendering images, the gyriform calcification is obvious.
On the scout lateral view, there is gyriform calcification superimposed over the expected site of parietal and occipital lobes.
The tram-track sign is seen in the bone window.
The second images demonstrate the volume loss in comparison to the contralateral side.
T1WI: axial cuts show the volume loss in the left parietal and occipital lobes.
T2* and T2: drop of the signal is seen in the expected site of calcification.
Case Discussion
Sturge-Weber syndrome is a condition that affects the development of certain blood vessels, causing abnormalities in the brain, skin, and eyes from birth.
This patient came for follow up with some increase in calcification but no other pathology can be seen.
