Right frontoparietal elliptical isodensity compressing the related right cerebral hemisphere effacing its gyri. Mass effect is noted in the form of mild midline shift to the left side and compression of right lateral ventricle.
Case Discussion
A subdural hemorrhage (SDH) results from collection of blood between the dura and arachnoid mater of the meninges around the brain.
In its subacute stage, a subdural hematoma will be isodense to grey matter, making it hard to be differentiated from brain parenchyma for the untrained eye.
How to spot it??
look for mass effects, like in this case; the compression of right lateral ventricle and medial shift of grey / white matter interface on right side.
Don't forget: subdural hematoma is much more common in old age and needs no major trauma, subtle trauma will suffice.
