Large hematoma displacing the renal cortex from the capsule, measuring approximately 86×79×75 mm in diameter. A 49 mm simple cortical cyst is noted at left kidney. A few subcentrimeter cortical cysts are also present, bilaterally.
Case Discussion
In an elderly patient with a recent history of blunt trauma features on CT scan are compatible with subcapsular perirenal hematoma. Typically seen as crescentic hematoma peripherally encapsulating a portion of the kidney. The attenuation value depends on the age of the hemorrhage.
