Pain in ankle; no history of trauma

Significant marrow oedema is seen in lateral aspects of talar dome. On a closer look, a liner horizontal hypointensity can be appreciated, parallel to the overlying articular surface.
Mild marrow oedema is seen in medial cuneiform bone.
Prominent steida process is seen. Small bony protrusion seen along anterosuperior aspect of talus.
Calcaneal spurs seen along posterior and plantar aspects.
Case Discussion

Findings are in keeping with subchondral insufficiency fracture of talus.
