A single living fetus with normal heartbeats (148 b/min).
A large hypoechoic crescent-shaped fluid collection with internal septations is seen extending between the uterine wall and the chorionic membrane posteriorly reaching the placental margins and crossing the internal os, coping with subacute/chronic subchorionic hemorrhage.
Case Discussion
Subchorionic hemorrhage is the most common type of perigestational hemorrhage where blood collects between the chorion and endometrium. It typically occurs within the first 20 weeks of gestation.
