Subcutaneous fat fracture - leg

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Direct trauma to anterior distal leg - 2 hrs back. Radiograph - negative for fracture.

Patient Data

Age: about 11 - 13 yrs
Gender: Male
ultrasound

A fluid filled gap is noted in subcutaneous plane at site of trauma. Tiny echoes are noted in fluid - blood. Underlying muscle is intact.
