Subcutaneous lipoma of arm

Anterior upper arm swelling - Increased size in last few months. Mild pain.

Patient Data

Age: 65 yrs
Gender: Female

Well-defined ovoid lesion is seen in region of interest.

Location - Subcutenous plane. Abutting muscle. Deep to lesion a vein is noted on lateral aspect.

Morphology - Solid with well-defined margins.- Linear internal strands present - NO calcification / cystic changes. - Significantly compressible.

Dopplar     - Arterial as well as venous flow noted.

Case Discussion

Flow in lesion is one of the many features of liposarcoma.

Histopathology - Lipoma without any sarcomatous changes.
