Subcutaneous liposarcoma of the shoulder region

Presentation

Large mass over the right anterior deltoid, that had been present for years, but had increased in size within a few months.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

A large soft tissue opacity is noted projecting from the lateral aspect of the right shoulder.

The tumor is well encapsulated and contains a posterocranial part of homogeneous fat tissue and a larger anterior part of edematous fat nodules surrounded by fluid. There is little enhancement, if any.
