Subdural hematoma in an infant

Presentation

RTA patient was sent for a cranial ultrasound in the emergency unit.

Age: 6 months
Gender: Female

Partially closed anterior fontanel revealed an anechoic collection over the right cerebral cortex extending into the interhemispheric fissure on right side of the falx cerebri, the picture is suggestive of subdural hematoma.

Case Discussion

Infant patient was sent for brain ultrasound in the emergency unit. The patient was conscious and irritable.

The examination revealed right-sided subdural hematoma which was dealt with conservatively.
