Selected Brain MRI images demonstrating a solid non-obstructive mass on the floor of the inferior portion of the fourth ventricle. This lesion expresses low T1 and high T2 and FLAIR signals, no diffusion restriction, and no contrast enhancement. The Magendie foramen and the lateral apertures are still patent. No hydrocephalus. The remainder brain is unremarkable in appearance.
Case Discussion
This fourth ventricle tumor is an incidental finding in an asymptomatic patient. It has remained stable for more than five years. The MRI features, based on the clinical data, strongly suggest a subependymoma of the fourth ventricle. This case has been managed conservatively due to the benign appearance of the lesion and the presumed diagnosis of a subependymoma.
