Presentation

65 year old presenting with headache.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
CT

Posterior fossa heterogenous mass is located within the fourth ventricle and appears to arise from the posterior aspect of the medulla. 

The mass has speckled calcifications and heterogeneously enhances. 

MRI

Posterior fossa heterogenous mass is located within the fourth ventricle and appears to arise from the posterior aspect of the medulla. 

The mass has speckled calcifications and heterogeneously enhances. 

Pathology

Histology demonstrated a mixed tumour containing both subependymoma and ependymoma components. 

Case Discussion

At operation, site of attachement to the medulla was confirmed. 

Histology demonstrated a mixed tumour containing both subependymoma and ependymoma components.
