Presentation

65 year old presenting with headache.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years

Posterior fossa heterogenous mass is located within the fourth ventricle and appears to arise from the posterior aspect of the medulla. 

The mass has speckled calcifications and heterogeneously enhances.

pathology

Histology demonstrated a mixed tumor containing both subependymoma and ependymoma components. High power showing perivascular pseudorosette and true ependymal lined channel.

Case Discussion

At operation, site of attachment to the medulla was confirmed.
