Presentation
Right submandibular painless swelling.
Patient Data

A well-defined homogeneous fat density lesion (measuring 16 x 37 mm) is seen at the right submandibular region anterior to the right submandibular gland and inferolateral to the anterior belly of the right digastric muscle. No internal septae, calcifications or enhancing soft tissue components noted. Findings are typical for a lipoma.
Another subcutaneous lipoma (with fine internal septae) and small sebaceous cyst were incidentally noted at the left side of the back of the neck.
Case Discussion
This lesion shows the typical imaging features of lipoma with no suspicious criteria.
Well-differentiated liposarcoma is considered when the lesion is bigger in size (>10 cm) and shows a percentage fat <75%, thick or nodular (>2 mm) septa, nodular/globular areas and prominent enhancement.
