Submandibular sialadenitis

Patient presenting with large tender swelling over floor of mouth associated with fevers.

Patient Data

Age: 35
Gender: Male

CT neck with contrast demonstrates a heteregenous and enlarged submandibular gland consistent with inflammation. There is mild surrounding fat stranding.

The left sublingual space shows extensive swelling and focal low, tubular low density regions which may represent early abscess formation in sublingual gland.

There are multiple enlarged left submandibular, submental and deep cervical chain lymph nodes present. 

No obstructing calculus seen.
