Presentation

Painless submental swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
ct

Large well-encapsulated subcutaneous fatty mass of submental location lateralized to the left with no calcification or thick septation. No enhancement was seen on postcontrast images.

Case Discussion

CT features most consistent with soft tissue lipoma of submental location.

The main differential diagnosis includes:

  • liposarcoma: usually thick enhanced septa or evidence of local invasion
