CT of the abdomen demonstrates right subphrenic (between diaphragm and liver surface) encapsulated fluid collection with fluid/gas level which is consistent with abscess. It caused unilateral elevation of hemidiaphragm.
Liver is unremarkable.
Small postoperative changes in the epigastrium.
Right pleural effusion and tiny pericardial effusion noted.
Case Discussion
This subphrenic abscess was drained. Culture of Eschericia coli was grown.
Subphrenic abscess frequently develops after surgical operations like in this case after cholecystectomy.
