Presentation

Hip and lower back pain. Normal plain films.

Patient Data

Gender: Male

Subtle, but increased amount of fat in the muscles - especially the thigh and gluteal muscles.

Case Discussion

There is subtle muscle atrophy of the muscles of the hip girdle and thigh as demonstrated by increased linear fatty deposiition in the muscles.
