Approximately 50 x 23 mm sized placental disc noted separate and anterior to main placental disc.
Case Discussion
Succenturiate placenta (SP), also known as accessory lobe are variations in placental morphology. SP is usually smaller than the main placenta 1. They can be diagnosed on ultrasound as two separate placental without bridging placental tissue in between two components 1. SP can be associated with vasa previa, or rupture of vessels connecting the lobes during labor 1.
