Presentation
A young male with some hoarseness of voice. Laryngoscopy revealed a sulcus in left vocal cord.
Patient Data
Virtual CT laryngoscopy reveals a smooth longitudinal ridge along left vocal cord.
Case Discussion
This case didn't reveal anything more than the finding already noted in conventional laryngoscopy, but it highlights the problem-solving capability of 'volume-rendered' images. Axial images (not shown here) would have never revealed this fine 'groove' to be understood as a 'sulcus' similar to conventional laryngoscopy. Virtual laryngoscopy or rather any virtual endoscopy would help to understand these fine 'anomalies' apart from obvious masses, if analyzed properly.
