Superficial peroneal peripheral nerve sheath tumor

Presentation

Right leg pain in middle a third lateral aspect. No trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

There is a well-defined, oval-shaped mass measuring about 10 x 22 mm in the course of the peroneal nerve superficial branch of the right leg's middle third portion distal to the fibula head.

The mass shows homogenous T1 hypo and heterogenous T2 hyperintensity with proximal and distal taillike formations.

Case Discussion

Appearance is consistent with a peripheral nerve sheath tumor of the superficial peroneal nerve.
