Gradient echo axial imaging through the brain demonstrates extensive low signal regions lining the surface of the brain. This is most easily seen over the superior aspect of the cerebellum. The low signal regions also demonstrate blooming, consistent with susceptibility artefact from hemosiderin.

Case Discussion

Features are consistent with superficial siderosis.  The cause for this is not evident on these images and spinal imaging should be obtained to look for an alternative source of repeated bleeding.
