Superior semicircular canal dehiscence

Case contributed by Dr Alexandra Stanislavsky

Loss of the bony coverage  between the superior semicircular canal and skull.

Case Discussion

Thin section CT of the petrous temporal bones demonstrates bilateral dehiscence of the superior semicircular canals.

There was no history of dysequilibrium, and as such this finding does not constitute the superior semicircular canal dehiscence syndrome
