Suprapubic catheter stuck in the urethra

The suprapubic catheter enters through the anterior abdominal wall. It courses inferiorly through the bladder and enters the urethral opening. It passes through the prostatic urethra. Just inferior to this, the balloon is inflated within the lumen of the penile urethra. The balloon has a volume of approximately 5 ml.
No free intraperitoneal gas. Fecal loading in the rectum.
Case Discussion
The balloon could not be deflated. The balloon was punctured percutaneously by the urologist so the catheter could be removed and replaced.
