Suprascapular notch - ultrasound identification

Case contributed by David Gendy
Diagnosis not applicable

Illustrations showing how to identify the suprascapular notch. This is a common location for intervention, where the suprascapular nerve coursing through the notch is targeted for injections for patients with shoulder pain. The probe is positioned in an oblique position, with either the coracoid process (shown in the illustrations) or the glenoid being visualized on the lateral side.
