Supraspinatus calcific tendinosis

Right shoulder non-traumatic pain for a few months.

Patient Data

Age: 41 years
Gender: Female

Supraspinatus calcific tendinosis


Calcification in supraspinatus tendon. Rest of the cuff tendons were normal. No cuff tear.

Aspiration of calcium under local anesthesia was done by referring orthopedic surgeon for which USG guidance was provided.


Radiograph 6 weeks after needle aspiration

Reduced density of calcification is seen.

Case Discussion

After aspiration, the patient's symptoms improved as judged by referring doctor.
