Case contributed by Dr Maulik S Patel

Shoulder pain and restricted movement for last 6 weeks after recent sports activity (bowling at cricket match).

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

There is probably a tiny acromian spur in AP oblique ( True AP ) standing view of right shoulder.

There is a full thickness fluid defect replacing supraspinatus tendon with lenght of about 20 mm. Rest of the cuff tendons are intact.

There is no significant fatty infiltration or volume loss of supraspinatus muscle belly.

Case Discussion

The findings are consistent with a supraspinatus tendon tear.
