Supraspinous ligament injury

Lower neck pain, worse with physical activity. Past history of old sporting injuries.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

There is subtle elevation of the supraspinous ligament at its T1 spinous process attachment, with associated focal marrow oedema within the tip of the T1 spinous process as well as localised subligamentous oedema, which is appreciated on the T2 fat saturated sequence.

Subtle avulsion of the supraspinous ligament at T1.
