Surgical emphysema: crumpled paper appearance

Patient underwent cholecystectomy.

Patient Data

Age: 48
Gender: Female

Abnormal lucencies in the lower chest and abdominal wall representing gas / air accumulation within the soft tissue and resembling the crumpled paper. Features goes with extensive soft tissue / subcutaneous or surgical emphysema.
