There is a well defined hypoechoic collection with multiple peripheral echogenic foci (gas foci) seen at the gallbladder bed. No evidence of internal or marginal vascularity seen on color-flow imaging.
Case Discussion
Post-operative surgical hemostatic material (Surgicel) can be mistaken for post-operative collection or abscess. Familiarity with Surgicel appearance on different imaging modalities and the availability of surgical information provided by the surgical team are crucial for diagnosis.
