Case Discussion

Surgicel material may mimic postoperative abscess on CT.

All radiologists should be aware of this and familiar with the appearance on post-operative CT to avoid misdiagnosis .

Clinical information indicating the use of Surgicel is the most useful factor in differentiating between abscess and Surgicel.
