Presentation

Felt a chicken bone stuck in his throat during a meal.

Patient Data

Age: 13 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is a linear radiopaque foreign body in the upper esophagus, just beyond the epiglottis.  This has an elongated shape, the superior aspect slightly larger than the inferior aspect.  No subcutaneous emphysema is seen on this single view.
