Swallowed foreign body (power plug)

Presentation

Mild airway compromise after swallowing a power cord.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

The power cord and plug is projected over the mouth / oropharynx. A lateral projection is required to further define its exact location.

The lungs are clear. No pneumothorax or pleural effusion. Cardiomediastinal contours are within normal limits.

Case Discussion

This patient had a long Hx of swallowing various foreign bodies and mental illness. The plug needed to be removed in the emergency department by the ENT surgeons.
