Symptomatic acromioclavicular joint osteoarthritis

marked edema of the acromioclavicular joint with advanced degenerative changes ( narrowing of the joint space and osteophytes)
the rotator cuff tendons are unremarkable
the long head of the biceps tendon is normal
few geodes within the humeral head
Case Discussion
A symptomatic acromioclavicular (AC) joint osteoarthritis is characterized by marked edema. If there is no edema, the pain should not be attributed to AC joint osteoarthritis, even if there are degenerative changes.
