Patient Data

Age: 60

There are multiple concretional ossific masses in the suprapatellar bursa. There is degenerative change in patelofemoral joint as well.

Case Discussion

The presence of multiple concretional ossific masses in the suprapatellar bursa are in keeping whit synovial osteochondromatosis

Occasionally the differential between a bone infarct and an enchondroma can be difficult on AP film; howeve in lateral projection as in this example, synovial osteochondromatosis and enchondroma are easily diagnosed.
