History of rheumatoid arthritis presented with knee pain

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Bilateral genu vara.

Advanced osteoarthritis of both tibio-femoral and patello-femoral articulations in form of: 

  1. total obliteration of medial and lateral tibio-femoral as well as patello-femoral joint spaces with subchondral sclerosis
  2. bulky marginal osteophytosis of articular surfaces
  3. bilateral calcifications along the synovial lining of knee joints with multiple variable sized ossific bodies

Case Discussion

Secondary synovial chondromatosis due to advanced osteoarthritis of the knee joints.
