Synovial sarcoma - lower limb

Presentation

Palpable lump in the inner thigh for the last 3 weeks.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Well-defined intramuscular hypoechoic mass measuring 25 mm x 15 x 23 mm. Mild internal vascularity.

Case Discussion

The sonographic findings are non-specific and the differential in this location includes peripheral nerve sheath tumor or soft tissue sarcoma. This mass was resected and confirmed to be a synovial sarcoma.
