There are multiple cysts in the lungs, liver, spleen, kidneys and soft tissue.
In this case, how was the diagnosis made?
- abdominal ultrasound examinations performed until three years ago was normal
- laboratory parameters and tumor markers were normal
- abdominal ultrasound correlation revealed uncomplicated, purely cystic lesions
With these findings diagnosis of disseminated hydatid cysts was established.
Hydatid cysts represent a parasitic infestation that which may affect the liver and lung, although potentially anywhere in the human body.
