Patient Data

Age: 20
Gender: Male

Xray foot was apparently normal. No bony ridge or typical c shape appearance.

There is close approximation of the middle facet of calcaneum with the talus with sclerosis and degeneration medially. No bony bar is demonstrated suggestive of fibrous or cartilaginous coalition.

Case Discussion

Talocalcaneal coalition is a not frequently encountered radiological abnormality, but should be kept in mind in young adults with chronic pain on whom the other causative factors such as fracture, ligamentous or tendinous pathologies have been excluded.
