On AP view, direct visualisation of non-osseous coalition between middle facets of the talus and calcaneus as narrowing and irregularity of the interosseous space between these two facets.

C sign, which is a secondary finding of talocalcaneal coalition, is also seen on the lateral radiograph.

Talocalcaneal coalition is an abnormal union between talus and calcaneus, mostly involving the middle facet. It may be bony, cartilaginous or fibrous.
