Presentation

Pain in the right calf and intermittent claudication.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female

Right lower limb arteries

ultrasound
  • 9 cm occluded segment identified at the distal femoral artery
  • resultant tardus parvus spectral waveform of all the calf arteries
  • no further occlusion appreciated elsewhere

Case Discussion

There is an occlusion in the distal femoral artery limiting flow to all arteries distal to it.

The arteries downstream all demonstrate tardus parvus waveform.
