- T2-weighted MRI shows diffusely dilated perivascular (Virchow-Robin) spaces in the frontal white matter and around the striatal MCA branches which is in line with the état criblé (status cribrosum) pattern.
- More diffuse gliosis in the thalamic and periventricular region.
