Selected T2 sequence images demonstrate diffuse brain volume loss without lobar predominance (best assessed with the sagittal T1), multiple foci of T2/FLAIR hyperintensities scattered through the supratentorial white matter, non-specific, in keeping with chronic small vessel disease, and multiple enlarged perivascular spaces giving the classical appearance described as "état criblé".
Case Discussion
État criblé is a term that describes the diffusely widened perivascular spaces (Virchow-Robin spaces).
