Presentation

Headache and nausea, worse in the mornings and on stooping.

Age: Elderly
Gender: Female

Selected images from an MRI demonstrate a cystic mass with peripheral enhancement which expands the quadrigeminal plate and causes obstructive hydrocephalus.

Note the presence of an additional peripherally enhancing mass in the parahippocampal gyrus on the right, consistent with a second metastasis.

This elderly woman with known metastatic breast cancer developed headaches and symptoms of raised intracranial pressure.
