Locked jaw status post dental procedure.

Patient Data

Age: 32
Gender: Female

Anterior translation at the temporomandibular joints bilaterally.

Status post reduction of right temporomandibular joint with TMJ alignment within normal limits. 

Case Discussion

This 32-year-old female presented to the ED with bilateral temporomandibular joint dislocation after a dental procedure. The patient was unable to close her mouth. X-rays revealed anterior translation at the temporomandibular joints bilaterally. The TMJ was reduced successfully under sedation in the ED.
