Presentation

Locked jaw status post dental procedure.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Anterior translation at the temporomandibular joints bilaterally.

Status post reduction of right temporomandibular joint with TMJ alignment within normal limits. 

Case Discussion

Presented to the ED with bilateral temporomandibular joint dislocation after a dental procedure. The patient was unable to close her mouth. X-rays revealed anterior translation at the temporomandibular joints bilaterally. The TMJ was reduced successfully under sedation in the ED.
